About this artist

Anne Wilson is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist with a rootsy sound that’s steeped in her strong faith and country upbringing. Her first single, “My Jesus,” became a chart-topping Christian hit in 2021, as did her debut album of the same name when it was released a year later.
A native of Lexington, Kentucky, Wilson began playing piano at an early age. Her first public performance was borne of necessity and deep grief. When her brother was killed in a car accident at the age of 23, she played Hillsong’s “What a Beautiful Name” at his funeral. The powerful moment crystallized her resolve to pursue a career in music, and when a video of the performance began circulating, she was offered a record deal. Looking to country greats like Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash for inspiration, as well as established CCM artists such as Steffany Gretzinger and Lauren Daigle, she released her first single, “My Jesus,” in early 2021, and later delivered a concert EP, My Jesus (Live in Nashville). Additional singles like “God Thing” and “Sunday Sermons” arrived ahead of Wilson’s full-length debut, also called My Jesus, in April 2022. The country-meets-Christian album was an immediate success, topping Billboard’s Christian Albums chart and hitting number 68 on the pop chart. The set also featured a duet with Hillary Scott (“Mamas”) and a version of “My Jesus” with Crowder. ~ James Christopher Monger
