About this artist

Amrit Ramnath is a musician whose strength is defined by his deep roots in the tradition of Indian classical music. Various other art forms have inspired and influenced his aesthetics, as they unfolded on his path of learning. Lalgudi Jayaraman, the Violin legend initiated him on the violin. He continues to learn with Bombay Jayashri, his mother.
A variety of instruments, the Piano, the Violin, and the Guitar, which he is trained in, divulge further secrets of the world of notes and rhythm to him.

As a vocalist, he has performed at Esplanade Singapore, Lincoln Center New York, Hong Kong University, The Chennai Festival, and venues in Delhi and Mumbai, amongst many others.

Earth Day Network commissioned Amrit in 2020 to compose and curate the Anthem, Dharthi ma in which he collaborated with Shankar Mahadevan, Bombay Jayashri, Kaushiki Chakraborty, Mahesh kale, Abhishek Raghuram, M d Pallavi, Hansraj Hans, Swetha Mohan bringing together musicians from across India to celebrate the earth. It was globally celebrated.

His recent multilingual EP "Jago", is critically acclaimed as capturing nuances of his roots and also being a diverse cultural musical expression. Jago is a successful, ongoing live tour, receiving a wonderful response. It has been featured across top national press.

Amrit has been carving out a niche for himself as a musician who is deeply influenced by his roots. He is carefully and consciously crafting a niche that is a confluence of his environment.
