The Danish alt-rock ensemble A Friend in London make melodic, uplifting rock in the vein of U2 and Coldplay. Formed in Volstrup, Denmark while the members were in boarding school in 2005, A Friend in London came to the public’s attention after lead singer Tim Schou won the television vocal contest Danish Young Talent. This led to several tours, including stints in Canada, where the band built a loyal following. In 2011, A Friend in London finished fifth in the Eurovision Song Contest with their song “New Tomorrow.” That same year, the band readied its full-length debut album with Danish producer Frederik Nordsø. ~ Matt Collar
