Czech pianist, violinist, conductor, educator. Born April 18, 1899 in Uherské Hradiště (former Austro-Hungarian Empire), died March 4, 1962 in Prague (former Czechoslovakia).
In 1924 he founded and conducted “Slovácká filharmonie” (not to be confused with “Slovenská filharmónia”). He was opera conductor at all major Czech and Slovak theatres in Prague, Brno, Ostrava or Bratislava, as well as in Moscow, Soviet Union. His students included Vítězslava Kaprálová.
