Hailing from a musical family (her father produced acts like New Edition
and Guy), Elizabeth "Yummy" Bingham was raised in Jamaica, Queens and was
surrounded by talented artists from a young age. After a tumultuous few
years as a wild adolescent, she calmed down and began focusing on singing in
junior high, which led to a stint in girl group Tha Rayne after meeting up
with veteran producer Kay Gee. They would eventually split up, but Bingham did get a taste of the spotlight when she sang on JaheimÂs hit single "Fabulous." Shortly thereafter, she contributed vocals to De La SoulÂs hit "Baby Phat." Soon she connected with platinum beat maestro Rockwilder who took Yummy on as his protege, producing her debut single, "Come Get It," with Jadakiss, as well as contributing heavily to her debut solo album, First Seed.
