YahBoy Codi who is now a Christian hip hop artist was formally known under his battle rap persona Jigsawlastpiece.

He hailed on the South African battle rap circuit Scrambles4Money and the underground Joburg scene striving to establish a name for himself. Having garnered the respect of his peers, he is still considered a formidable opponent in respects to his wittiness, delivery, multis and punchline ability.

His turbulent past life and battles with alcoholism, drug addiction and depression which he touches on in his songs caused a lot of hiccups for him personally also stunting his music and battle rap career which led to a hiatus for sometime.

Being born in Mafikeng (Mmabatho) and than being raised in South Johannesburg (Eldos), He would later move to the East Rand which exposed him to the culture of hip hop on a wider scale solidifying a passion for the genre from his early teens right into adulthood.

Being heavily influenced by the gritty, underground, hardcore style of nineties boom bap as well as RnB and Soul and modern mainstream hip hop. Having only broken ground as rapper again recently he has now returned with lyrics infused with the Gospel baring all truth to his faith. He tackles the various issues of life through crafty lyricism as well as story telling reminding his listeners that God does finally give life its greater meaning.

He is also experimenting with various other sounds to make his music more appealing to all and by understanding the primary purpose of music he remains content driven wanting to relay a message of faith, hope and love in a world filled with despair.
