Y-Jay

Y-Jay began rhyming at a very young age and began making songs in his early teens. A true product of Hip-Hop Music, as a child Jay often used music to escape his own reality. Years spent dissecting and analyzing his favorite artists resulted in the development of his unique, frank and expressive style, highlighted by smooth songwriting and strong lyrical ability.

Y-Jay joined the ranks of his label, 8th ElemEnt. Entertainment at age 16. His first material with the crew debuted on “When Gr8 Minds Collide” alongside label mate and close friend: Fame. This rugged yet subtle mixtape release caught fire locally and thrust both into stardom on the Denver music scene. Y-Jay has since performed & competed all over Colorado, toured nationally and has shared the stage with numerous artists, including Rittz, Krizz Kaliko and Dizzy Wright just to name a few. His extensive time in the studio, both behind the mic and the keyboard has yielded a collection of releases, videos and collaborations with much more in store.
