About this artist

Swedish music group (folktronica) from Gothenburg, was formed in 2011.

Two of the band members, Martin Molin and Marcus Sjöberg, were former members of the music group . All members play several different instruments, many of which are unusual or self-constructed, such as the violin-like synthesizer they call "modulin". You also use everyday objects such as typewriters and saws.

In the autumn of 2012, the debut single Sommarfågel was released with accompanying video. The band's debut album Wintergatan was released in 2013.

The group attracted media attention after they released the music video "Marble Machine" in March 2016, in which a Rube Goldberg machine plays vibraphone, electric bass, and drums using game balls. The machine is designed by Martin Molin and the video was produced by Molin and Hannes Knutsson.

In January 2017, the construction of a new machine called Marble Machine X began. The machine is based on the same function and idea as the one in the music video, but should be better designed so that it is possible to take on a world tour with the band. Martin Molin has since documented the construction process on the band's Youtube channel in so-called "Wintergatan Wednesdays".
