About this artist

Toronto bedroom pop sensation Verzache delivers lyrics of melancholy and youthful heartbreak to an appealing soundtrack combining acoustic, folky vibes with lo-fi beats and electronic textures. He released his debut album, Thought Pool, in 2018, followed by the sincere My Head Is a Mosh Pit in 2021. More streaming hits followed in 2022 (“Broke Mine”) and 2023 (“Call My Own.“)
Born Zach Farache in Singapore, where his father was working, he moved with his family back to the Toronto suburbs at the age of three and grew up there. A music fan from an early age, he took up the guitar at ten and began making his own music in his mid-teens. By the age of 18, he had developed his own style and was taking music more seriously. Enrolling at music college, he began releasing tracks online and released his debut EP, D97, in 2016; it had a lo-fi electronic sound occasionally incorporating acoustic guitar. As his studies progressed, his music became both more polished and more eclectic, as seen on his next release, 2018′s Thought Pool. That year he made a trip to L.A. to secure a manager, then spent the next two years working on what would become his first “proper” album. My Head Is a Moshpit, released on Caroline Records in March 2021, was cathartic, emotional, and his most accomplished work to date, with a fuller, more organic sound. He continued in that vein the following year with the introspective yet infectious “Broke Mine” and kicked off 2023 with the heartfelt singles “Call My Own” and “Never Gets Old.” ~ John D. Buchanan
