Undeath

Following in the viscera-stained footsteps of extreme metal forebearers like Carcass and Cannibal Corpse, New York death metal enthusiasts Undeath emerged in 2019 with a sound steeped in old-school brutality. They earned a deal with Prosthetic Records which issued the full-length Lesions of a Different Kind in 2020, followed by the Billboard-charting It's Time....To Rise from the Grave in 2022.
Based out of Rochester, the group was initially comprised of vocalist Alex Jones, guitarist Kyle Beam, and drummer Matt Browning before expanding in 2020 with the additions of bassist Tommy Wall and second guitarist Jared Welch. Undeath issued their debut EP, Sentient Autolysis, in 2019; it caught the attention of Prosthetic Records, which swiftly added the band to its roster. The full-length Lesions of a Different Kind, which featured guest vocals from Trevor Strnad of the Black Dahlia Murder on the relentless title cut, appeared the following year and received widespread acclaim, entering the U.S. and Canadian Billboard charts. The band released their sophomore long-player two years later, the cathartic and blood-soaked It's Time....To Rise from the Grave. The album hit number 17 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart and Undeath followed it in November 2022 with their first concert album, Live… From the Grave. ~ James Christopher Monger
