UGLYDUB - leftfield bass on live instruments.
85, 140, 170 bpm and beyond - south east Berlin outfit UGLYDUB delivers the heat. Two musicians combine their shared passion for modern bass music with instrumental skills on both drums and violin alongside a little support from bass synthesizers, loop-machines and countless analog fx units.
The results vary from liquid drum and bass with orchestral character to ill tempered halftime beats and fully fledged hip hop instrumentals.
With their first series of releases in early ’21 the duo showcases a wide array of ideas primarily influenced by labels like 20/20 LDN, Vision/Division, Dividid and Saturate.
Being a live band with this kind of orientation inevitably leads to a peculiar approach of manipulating drums, stacking violins and constantly feeding the machines of creativity.
