About this artist

British punk band Trash Boat hail from St. Albans, England. Playing emotive and raw blasts in the vein of Knuckle Puck, the Story So Far, and Roam, the quintet were formed in 2014 by expressive frontman Tobi Duncan, guitarists Dann Bostock and Ryan Hyslop, bassist James Grayson, and drummer Oakley Moffatt. They released their first EP, Look Alive, in 2015, and quickly followed it with Brainwork that same year. Signing with Hopeless Records, they unveiled their debut LP, Nothing I Write You Can Change What You've Been Through, in June 2016. It included singles “Strangers” and “How Selfish I Seem.” They promoted the record with a nationwide tour, including an appearance at the Reading and Leeds Festivals and as the opening act for American hardcore outfit Beartooth at their U.K. shows that Christmas. Trash Boat returned in 2018 with their sophomore effort Crown Shyness, which was preceded by the single “Shade.” For their third album, Don’t You Feel Amazing?, the band teamed up with Jason Perry (Don Broco, Fatherson) on production duties. Shifting their sound in a more direct, harder-edged rock direction, the resulting album — which saw lead vocalist Tobi Duncan delivering more personal and direct lyrics — was issued in mid-2021. ~ Neil Z.
