Tish Hyman

About this artist

During the early- to mid-2010s, Latisha Hyman claimed her place in the music industry as a songwriter and/or featured vocalist on several commercial rap, R&B, and dance releases. Born and raised in the Bronx, Hyman — who goes by Tish — started as a battle rapper, inspired by her brother, but eventually followed the lead of her mother and sister by developing a talent for high-powered singing. A song she wrote for fledgling singer Ahsan Watts gained some attention that led to credits on 2013-2016 songs by B.o.B (“Nobody Told Me”), Gorgon City (“6AM”), Fabolous (“You Made Me”), and Ty Dolla $ign (“Horses in the Stable”), among other artists. Also during 2016, she released the independent EP Dedicated To:, for which Ty and Fab reciprocated by appearing on the track “Dreams.” A few months later that year, Hyman’s work reached more ears with a handful of songs co-written for Alicia Keys’ Here (including “Blended Family”) and an appearance on Diddy’s MMM. Hyman’s “What It Feels Like,” featuring Ty and DeJ Loaf, followed as a single in 2017. ~ Andy Kellman
