The Stupid Experts are a duo originating from the small town of Hawick in The Scottish Borders. Ally Brown and Dave Walker have been friends for long over ten years and their parents were also friends in the generation before. Dave has had a very long career in the music industry, even perrforming on Top Of The Pops in the Scottish band QFX in the 90s. Ally started producing music in the early naughties and this is when he turned to Dave for music production advice. Dave, who had a string of releases on the likes of Ferry Corsten's imprint Flashover Recordings, began to show Ally his wealth of production knowledge. With his help, Ally quickly became quite a respected producer in the Trance scene, and had releases on labels such as Armin Van Buuren's "Armada", Lost Language, Alter Ego, Lange Recordings, Discover Dark and many more, gaining support from many A-List DJs such as Armin himself, Paul Van Dyk, Aly & Fila, John O'Callaghan to name just a few.
Both Dave and Ally slowly started to tire of the generic sounds of most trance music, and both developed a love for progressive. They would each share tracks they loved and it was then they decided to start producing music together - and The Stupid Experts project was born.
The name was derived from the ridiculous conversations they would have trying to describe how the track should be crafted, and just how stupid these conversations sounded. The music they were creating however was later to be hailed as "Groundbreaking" by the legendary John '00' Fleming, and that it "oozes quality". Subsequently, JOOF Aura snapped up two of their early releases which gained support from John himself, Solarstone, Gai Barone, Ruben De Ronde, Cosmic Gate, Jaytech and many more!
The conversations may be stupid but they are certainly experts in their field
