The Maisons are an American rock band formed in 2013, on Long Island, New York. Since their formation, they have gained fans from all over the world, spanning decades of influences into their musical sequence. One thing is clear, they are definitely 90's kids with Alternative Rock
being at the forefront of everything they do.
Singer-Songwriter, Matthew Edell, and drummer Tyler Boerckel met outside a local bar in their hometown where Matt asked Tyler outside, "Do you play any instruments? Tyler replied "Yes, the Drums" Matt breathed a sigh of relief. The day had finally come, he had been searching for years to meet him.
2014 gave way to many band name discussions and lineup changes between lead guitarists and bass players. The band originally called blackcat and then shivers.
In 2015, their single Trust me gained attention from SXSW and they were asked to play for McDonald's on the main stage. Later that year they added Jon Boyd Rogge, and recorded the follow-up songs Harlow, You are Mine, Start believing, and Falling as demos.
From 2016 to 2018 the band played several shows all around the NY Tri-State area venturing to NJ to gain attention from the several music scenes that are in the garden state circling back to NYC where alternative and indie rock live.
In November of 2018, a major setback happened. Their dear friend and lead guitarist Jon passed away. Matt and Tyler took a hiatus from music for a few months.
One day Matt met their present lead guitarist Daniel Casey through a mutual friend and musician Chelsea Takami.
In 2019, they recorded their follow-up single "Only You' with Warner Chappell producer Eren Cannata and Dream Theater Sound Engineer James Messlin.
It's been incredible to come this far said Matt in an interview with his label co-founder Tori Uruburu.
"I am so grateful that I can continue to do what I love, even if I'm not making money doing this. One day it will pay the bills, and I'm preparing for that day."
Twenty-Twenty has been a year for writing, staying safe, and healthy.
