Stephen Wake

Stephen Wake is a fingerstyle guitarist and composer from Scotland, focusing on the traditional folk music of Britain and Ireland.
Stephen's compositions and arrangements contain a variety of styles, ranging from Celtic airs to classical guitar ballads, not shying away from jigs and reels which he combines to make sets that are both technically challenging but easy to listen to. His arrangements of Celtic solo finger-style guitar have been praised by El McMeen, Steve Baughman, and Al Petteway. In 2015, El McMeen reviewed Stephen's debut album Journey's End of which he said "Stephen's treatment of jigs and reels pays proper homage to the brilliance of players like Tony McManus and John Sherman. His more languid phrasing of the slower tunes, including the way he draws up to and presents the important melody notes, reminds me of the artistry of Steve Baughman"
