Stefan Tcherepnin (b. 1977) is an American composer, electronic music performer and contemporary artist, member of The Gongs. He graduated from The Oberlin Conservatory Of Music (2003) and Milton Avery Graduate School of Art, Bard College (2006). Stefan is the oldest brother of Sergei Tcherepnin and composer in fourth generation, continuing the family heritage of his great-grandfather Nicholas, grandfather Alexander Tcherepnin and father Ivan Tcherepnin. He also owns a unique Serge Modular synthesizer unit, custom-built by his uncle Serge Tcherepnin and used by his father Ivan to compose and perform an award-winning "Santur Opera" in the 1980s.

As an electronic musician, Tcherepnin had been collaborating with Christopher DeLaurenti, Seth Price, Karl Holmqvist, Orion Keyser, Marina Rosenfeld, and Moscow Laptop Cyber Orchestra. He also presented lectures and workshops/performances at Tate Modern, Elektronmusikstudion and Theremin Center.
