Noted singer Sohini Mishra of Indian Idol fame released her debut solo album of Indi Pop songs named “Love Rainbow” in Bhubaneswar recently. State law minister Arun Kumar Sahoo released the album.
The much-awaited album has eight Hindi romantic songs penned by Mohan Majithia and composed by Om Prakash Mohanty. The eight songs, Nazar tujhse jo mili, Mausam suhana hai, Nila nila ye asman, Jawani jawani, Aie mere dil ki tanhayee, Sainyaan gaye jo pardes, O ore chanda and Chhun lene do asman ko, are expected to reach a wider audience all across the country.
Sohini’s solo album of Hindi songs is the first of its kind to be released from Orissa. It took her more than two years to conceive the album. A classically-trained singer, she has tried her best to adapt to the style of music prevalent in Bollywood these days. The songs are set to Western beats, and she has made a remarkable attempt to give full and ample justice to the peppy compositions. She hopes and aspires to carve a niche in the Hindi film industry through this album.
