Continuously writing Lo-Fi anthems and performing live to a trusty fan-base, indie-rock band Smashed Songs has since the mid-2000s released a number of EPs and two full length Albums, in various formats and forums. Embracing Hooky-ish melodic chorus bass and kraut pop rhythms, as well as Americana-flavoured guitars and bittersweet vocals in the stern tradition of Neil Young and Dinosaur Jr, Smashed Songs pearls such as "Five Horses" (2007), live classic "The Shooter" (2011) and the freshly recorded "Reading Books" (2019) bridges the gap between British New wave Pop and American Lo-Fi Rock.
Smashed Songs is based in Stockholm, Sweden, although originally formed in the small town of Nyköping where the band arose in the ashes of 1990s art-rock band the Druids and other local alternative rock acts. The line-up of Smashed Songs has varied some over the years, but since 2010 the band is a six-piece with Martin Nordlöf assuming Vocal duties and Guitar, Sven Granath playing Guitars, Johan Öberg playing Bass, Mats Wahlqvist banging Drums, Mathias Kågebrand exploring Keyboards and Anders Ljung adding Baryton Bas, Melodica and various stuff.
