Sky Cries Mary

About this artist

Seattle's Sky Cries Mary compose droning ablutions of psychedelic textures that attempt to pry open Huxley's "doors of perception." Incantatory, meditative and soothing, their early material is cut from a brightly colored fabric of ambient sounds supplemented by acoustic instrumentation and exotic female vocals. Upon signing to a major in 1997, the band developed a glossier consistency of synths and Trip-Hop beats.
