About this artist

As seasoned as he is a talented musician, the Toronto-based producer & songwriter, Shaun Frank, puts quality music above all else. “My focus has always been writing memorable melodies, timeless lyrics and putting as much energy and passion as I can behind the production,” he says outlining his artistic intentions. Beginning his music career at the age of 14, Shaun Frank front manned his previous bands, toured the world over, and this past year he finds himself transitioning fully into the world of Electronic Dance Music. It was one single in particular that put Frank on the map - the collaboration ‘This Could Be Love’ with Borgeous featuring Delaney Jane. Released at the end of 2014 on Spinnin’ Records, 'This Could Be Love' held its position in Beatports top 10 chart for over 2 months and received airplay on dance music radio stations across the globe. The vocal production on this song mixed with the deep grooving instrumental is definitively to become the “Shaun Frank” sound. Along with his hugely supported remix of Kiesza’s cover of Hozier’s ‘Take Me To Church’, he has now arrived at his signature style that involves a high-energy mix of elements including deep house, old UK garage, accompanied by strong lyrical work and a vocal focus.

“If the fans aren’t singing the songs on the way home from the club that night, then the songs aren’t even worth writing.” His perspective is far more intimate than some of the broader strokes much of dance music’s vastness often inhabits. Shaun is not solely concerned with making music that sells, but songs that stick to the soul. Shaun Frank’s potential takeover starts with the live show and ends by his music resonating with fans by way of vocal-driven grooves. “I am a songwriter, not a button pusher. Nothing against artists that do that, but I see myself in the future putting out an album that isnt just 122 to 128bpm house music,”. This became further cemented over the New Year’s 2015 holiday when Frank went into the studio with Dutch star Oliver Heldens. The two connected over a vocal Shaun had tracked—and after receiving its world premier as a fan voted highlight during Oliver Heldens Mainstage Ultra Music Festival set in Miami this March, it is sure to catapult his name into the upper echelon of up and coming producers to watch this year. “I play guitar, bass, piano and sing, so there is a lot that I plan to do with that, all in good time.”
