As both a poet and lyricist, Shari has worked extensively as an advocate for the foster care community, graduating from the University of Southern California (USC) with a Master’s in Social Work in the Department of Social Change & Innovation, and helping to implement policies that create meaningful improvements for at-risk communities across the country.
As a lyricist, she draws on her own experiences growing up in foster care to create meaningful works of art that help to reveal our shared humanity.

There are elements of classic hip-hop, jazz-inspired spoken word poetry, and vintage R&B and soul, all blended together into one distinctive style.
