About this artist

It’s a new feeling of freedom that’s fueling fresh levels of creativity that Shane54 is ready to show the world.

Hungarian DJ/producer Shane54 is reveling in new solo time, which feels incredible after growing up in studios - thanks to a musical family (dad was a sound engineer, mom a singer) - and embarking on a career frequently spent collaborating with others. This includes time spent in a popular Hungarian boy band as a teen and, more recently, an eight-year collaboration with Myon as MS54 that has since parted ways. As such, his memorable debut single “Paradise (feat. Jenny Jordan),” shows off years of pop songwriting prowess as well as his finely honed DJ instincts.

A true perfectionist, he admits that it took two years to get “Paradise” right, the hallmark of an artist writing and creating for longevity rather than fleeting trends. Ironically, part of the delay is that he realized he had the wrong vocalist, and maybe…he needed to reconsider the whole collaboration thing.

“Originally I sang this song, but I had a hunch that maybe I should try it with a girl,” he reveals. “Jenny is from Salt Lake City, where there are tons of girls that sound like angels — like, there are four big-name house voices that live in close vicinity of each other. They all grew up singing in the church choir and their voices became this angelic thing that works perfectly with dance music, especially trance.”

One of his first dance music efforts managed to capture the attention of one of the biggest DJs in the world.

“I did a remix for a Madonna remix competition and then found out that it was only open to American entrants. So I gave it to somebody who put it on the Internet somewhere where people download music from; I didn’t know much about it. Next thing I know, two weeks later, Paul Oakenfold was playing my Madonna remix.”

Other top names like Armin van Buuren and Paul van Dyk became early supporters and helped him break into their circles. “I was the first to break through the Hungarian pop barrier and because of this the young producer generation was listening more than anybody else. And that’s really good because they really know what’s going on.”

With MS54, Shane54 has amassed a loyal fan following and has remixed and/or crafted multiple releases that include charting singles at Billboard Top 200, number ones at Billboard Dance and Beatport, and produced and remixed tracks for Lana Del Rey, Tiësto, Above & Beyond, Tove Lo, Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz, Demi Lovato, Jessie J, BT and NERVO, to name a few.

Shane 54 continues to broadcast to a global audience of dance music fans with his weekly podcast known for fusing trance, house and progressive with, as he puts it, “anything under the sun.” International Departures with Shane 54 reaches over 15 million listeners per week worldwide and has a devoted following amongst top DJs who play and make music.

Today is only the beginning; he has much more music on the way that he’s excited to share. “With my solo material, I want to take the best of what we did as MS54 when we started, but give it my uncompromising vision. More than ever, the fans deserve more. What’s most exciting is this single is just the start.”
