Scott Speck, the Chicago Philharmonic’s Artistic Director and Principal Conductor. He is Music Director of the Joffrey Ballet, West Michigan Symphony,
and Mobile (AL) Symphony
Scott has co-authored Classical Music for Dummies, Opera for Dummies, and Ballet for Dummies.
Born in Boston, Speck graduated
summa cum laude from Yale; was a Fulbright Scholar in Germany; served as a Conducting Fellow at the Aspen School of Music; and studied at the Tanglewood Music Center.
