About this artist

Refusing to be bogged down with a genre specific sound, Salvatore Ganacci produces an eclectic take on house and EDM. Tracks such as 2015′s “Money in My Mattress,” 2019′s “Horse,” and 2023′s “Ferrari” have found their way into numerous DJ sets, while Ganacci’s own DJ sets have become viral hits. His debut album Culturally Appropriate was released at the end of 2022.
Born in Sarajevo, Bosnia, Salvatore Ganacci (aka Emir Kobilić) kick-started his career after a move to Sweden around 2010, releasing his first track, “Atmosphere” in 2012. Opting for a big-room, trance inspired-sound, Ganacci started to bring elements of dubstep and EDM into his productions, with tracks like 2015′s Money in My Mattress” and the 2016 Sebastian Ingrosso collaboration “FLAGS!” Ganacci continued to issue singles over the next few years, but it was his appearance on the main stage of Tomorrowland in 2018 that truly boosted his career. His set, which featured him dancing on the decks, performing handstands, and working the crowd into a frenzy, became a viral sensation online. Following the performance, Ganacci found himself releasing a decidedly wonky, hi-energy track “Horse” — and its similarly bizarre music video, which racked up huge streaming figures — on Skrillex’s OWSLA label. Ganacci continued to DJ, with more sets at Tomorrowland and around the world, while producing a diverse mix of disco-infused house, EDM, and hi-energy trance and collaborations with the likes of Sébastien Tellier, Steve Angello, and early collaborator Ingrosso. At the end of 2022, Ganacci released his debut album. Culturally Appropriate saw him truly flex his production skills, with the album taking in everything from dub reggae, Detroit-inspired techno, Dutch rave, and atmospheric breaks. 2023 saw him teaming up with Riff Raff and Tommy Cash for the bouncy, happy hardcore-referencing track “Ferrari.” ~ Rich Wilson
