Following Lil Bow Wow's meteoric rise to fame, several other junior-rappers stepped into the game, eager to win props and capitalize on the almighty schoolgirl market. Lil' Romeo already had a big foot in the industry door, seeing as his dad is No Limit head-honcho Master P. He had previously cameoed on several of P's records, and, at 11 years old, was ready for the big time. Romeo's debut single, the Jackson 5-laced "My Baby," raced up the pop charts and became the year's best-selling rap single. The track set the stage for his self-titled LP, which hit the streets in the summer of 2001.
