Ray Pherz is a spanish composer and pianist. He was born in Tenerife, Canary Islands, where he makes contact with music at an early age. He spent several years of study in his native land, to later expand his knowledge of piano interpretation in Freiburg im Breisgau (Germany).
After an intense period as a pianist in outstanding concert halls and receiving several awards as a composer and performer, he decided to dedicate himself exclusively to the composition and music performing of his work.
Composer with classical education, he is always looking for new forms of sound expression, mixing musical experimentation and use of cutting edge musical technology with orchestration and traditional harmonic and contrapuntal technique.
Together with the edition of his studio albums and concerts, he writes music for audiovisual media, theater, film and television, at the same time that he collaborates regularly with labels and festivals of that sector, such as "The Family of Music" (Berlin) or "Inmediate Music" (Los Angeles), or the "Tenerife International Film Music Festival FIMUCITE", where he worked as an assistant director with composers Mark Snow (X Files), Jonathan Sacks (X Files) and Don Davis (Matrix), among others.
