24 year old Pittsburgh native RapStarr a.k.a. Hurricane Cam has an agenda when it comes to the Hip Hop industry. With his music, he attends to bring back the essence of lyricism, storytelling, and knowledge within the Hip Hop cultures. Having his mother worked at the news side of Pittsburgh’s radio WAMO from 10-14 years, RapStarr grew up learning the ins and outs of the music business. His love for Hip Hop as an artist began when he was 9 years old. He recalls a time when he first bought his first CD, the “8 Mile” Soundtrack by Eminem. RapStarr refers to several of legendary artists such as Eminem, 50 Cent/G-Unit, LL Cool J, 2pac, and Lil’ Kim as his influences. He compares his style of lyric ability to the era of 1990’s and early 2000’s Hip Hop.
Throughout his college career at California University of Pennsylvania, RapStarr has begun to become a superstar. He perform at the Black Student Union’s Talent Showcase and making it to the college newspaper, he performed at the AIDS Awareness Concert, he attended the Hip Hop conference and met Hip Hop pioneers KRS-One and Doug E Fresh, and even off campus as he opened up for the Hopsin concert with his professor/DJ the summer of 2012. To add to his belt he has also performed at Faded Fest Summer Hip Hop and the 2013 Hip Hop Mania concert sponsored by Earth Entertainment.

The most recent songs that he have recorded is “Late at Night”, “Black Nation”, “Dear Maria”, “The Conversation”, and “The Marijuana Dreamin”. These songs are featured on his first highly anticipated mixtape called “The Resurrection of Hip Hop”. With a title like that, you can only expect greatness from this artist.
