Raja Wilco

About this artist

As an artist on the rise, one name is determined to stand on the top, and will not step down until he’s known to the world.  Raja Wilco who hails from New Jersey has an exquisite and provocative lyrical style along with unique cadences and powerful punchlines. The emotional depths within his lyrics are also beyond profound and leave his listeners thinking.

His background as an American, born to Indian parents who immigrated to the US in the 70's, gives him a great understanding of culture, music and what it can mean to people.  Even at 5 years old, music had been at the forefront of his life whether it was exposure to Hindi music played by his parents or when he was put on to two turntables and a mixer with his uncle who was a DJ.

Growning Up in the New York City metro area, he was exposed to a lot of groundbreaking music including Hip Hop, RnB and House.  Writing was his first foray into the creative realm as a high school student.  After a couple performances along with his gigs as a DJ in "The City" he intertwined with the culture.  Going to school and living in NYC gave him further drive not only a part of the music but a focal as a rap lyricist and MC.

Now by pushing our limits, we all endeavor to expose our full potential and Raja Wilco is an artist who has pushed passed his limits. He keeps intensifying his forte, rather than making illogical alterations, and brings our senses back to the soul of the song. Raja Wilco is a name to never be forgotten, and always remembered.

Since the debut of his song The General  garnered such attention and airplay, he has time and again been able to diversify his musical portfolio and put out quality music.  With songs such as Raja That (Apni to US version), Something's Goin On, and Tonight  he has most definitely raised the bar of how a South Asian MC is looked upon.  He has been playlisted on BBC's Radio 1 and BBC Asian Network on a consistent basis.  Also, he has gained fame thru videos being show all accross the world from Europe, Asia and back to North America.

Having worked with such talent as Juggy D, Kami K, Sureet Sandhu and the late Soni Pabla he has been blessed to create masterpieces with them.  He has also performed with Jay Sean, Cassidy, Rishi Rich, Jay Dabhi, Imran Khan and a host of others.

He has been featured on Eternity and Raja Wilco Present: Chicken-n-Rice Extra Hot Sauce, White Sauce, PropaGandaZ Vol 1 and 10/4 Raja Wilco mistape.  He has had standout tracks on Streets of Bollywood 2 & 3, Bollywood Breaks released by Moviebox Birmingham, as well as, the late great Soni Pabla's Eternity released by Planet Records Canada.

There was also huge success with the Digital Desi Renegades mixtape series which he took a big part in alongside producer Sureet Sandhu.

Other projects include writing, artist recruitment and being featured as an artist in the UNIVERSAL Records release Blindfolded by B-Projekt featuring Juggy D.

The last two-song single released (A-side and B-side) was BWIK (Best Way I Know) ft Sir Aah and Down that ft G-Deep did well and is available on all platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, Google Play and YouTube along with many others.

He is currently working on lots of new material with some released in May 2020 including the re-releasing of classics as well!

Currently working on new music and will be releasing more in Q4 of 2021 and Q1 of 2022.
