French techno producer and DJ Popof (Alexandre Paounov) was part of Heretik System, a collective that formed during the mid-‘90s for the sake of organizing underground raves. It was around that time that Popof initiated his production career — one that saw a few dozen 12” releases through the 2000s, including several on his Form Music label — and he continued into the following decade with an emphasis on stripped-down material. He also remixed tracks by the likes of Moby, Depeche Mode, Booka Shade, and the Chemical Brothers, among several others. ~ Andy Kellman
