Perennial

A self-described modernist punk ensemble, New England’s Perennial make an artfully bombastic brand of ’60s-inspired organ soul and guitar-heavy indie rock. They debuted with 2017’s Symmetry of Autumn Leaves, and further developed their sound with 2022′s Midnight Hour. Art History arrived in 2024. Hailing from the Massachusetts area, the group formed in the 2010′s and features singer/guitarist Chad Jewett, singer/organist Chelsey Hahn, and drummer Will Mulhern. Drawing inspiration from D.C. punk bands like Q and Not U and the Make-Up, as well as smattering of ’60s soul groups, Krautrock bands, and garage rock icons, the group debuted in 2017 with Symmetry of Autumn Leaves. In 2022, they returned with In the Midnight Hour, mixing in elements of free jazz. Art History appeared in 2024. ~ Matt Collar
