Henrik Olsson, better known as Ooyy, is a Swedish composer and producer specialising in electronic, house music. As a child, Henrik learned a variety of instruments including drums, guitar and piano, but it wasn’t until he began experimenting with FL Studio and midi keyboards that he really started to discover his sound. Despite being a promising handball player in his youth, it was music that ultimately took centre stage for Henrik; after graduating from high school, he embarked on a three year sound technology course at Dalarna University, subsequently DJing in several clubs across the Stockholm circuit. Whilst studying at university, Henrik diversified his knowledge of music, listening to and drawing inspiration from a variety of genres including ambient, indie, metal, electronic and house. It was also here that he developed a unique way of generating musical inspiration; on one computer screen he controls his music project and on the other he has a chosen picture to collect the right “vibes and feelings” to “create and sculpture” his sound. In 2018, Henrik released three EPs - “Genesis”, “Future Yellow” and “Faded” - alongside the single “Ganja”, which featured as the soundtrack for H&M’s collaboration with the Swedish Olympic team for the 2018 winter games.
