When the pandemic hit, everyone was knocked into isolation. Chad Kroeger’s home studio in Vancouver, usually always buzzing with activity, was suddenly quiet. While this was tough and scary—we all remember those endless, dark months, right? —Nickelback took this an opportunity to work on new material with fewer distractions.
“The lockdown actually helped,” says Chad Kroeger. “Creativity doesn’t love deadlines and because the uncertainly that came with the pandemic, we had none. That meant there was an ease to recording the album because we were free to take our time. We made the record because we wanted to, not because we had to.
“This one is loaded with rock, the way Nickelback was intended to be.”
Officially arriving on November 18, 2022, Get Rollin’, is the band’s tenth studio album and first since Feed the Machine in 2017. And make no mistake: This is a rock album.
Nickelback is now more than a quarter-century deep into a career that has seen them go from small-town Alberta, Canada, to a globally renown, multi-platinum rock band. They are one of the most commercially viable and successful acts of the 2000s, selling more than 50 million records. Next to The Beatles, they’re the second best-selling foreign act in the U.S.
“How You Remind Me” was Billboard’s Top Rock Song of the 00’s while the All The Right Reasons album sold in Diamond amounts (more than 10 million copies sold) in America. Sales that album are now somewhere north of 13 million in the U.S. and 19 million globally.
Heading into Get Rollin’, Nickelback has had 23 chart-topping singles and 12 consecutive sold-out world tours performed in front of nearly 10 million diehard fans around the planet.
Nickelback is Chad Kroeger (Lead Vocals, Guitars), Ryan Peake (Guitars, Backing Vocals), Mike Kroeger (Bass) and Daniel Adair (Drums, Backing Vocals).
