Monifé, meaning ‘ I have love’ in Yoruba, is a british-born Vincentian/Nigerian raised in East London. The 22 year old R&B singer-songwriter released her debut track ‘Unreachable’ in October 2019. With smooth and seductive ambience, the ‘old-school’ single currently has listeners nostalgic. With the likes of Erykah Badu, India Arie, Kaiit, H.E.R and SWV as influences, monifé bridges a gap between modern and old school R&B. Growing up monifé was always surrounded by singers, more so after becoming a member of Young N Gifted choir for several years. At 17 she became part of a ‘New-skool’ trio known as ‘GOE’, leading to performances across England before she went to university.
