About this artist

An unconventional Brooklyn emcee who was one half of Old-School heroes Audio Two, Milk's place in history is secure on the strength of the 1988 classic "Top Billin'." After three records with his brother Gizmo, Milk went solo in the mid-1990s, dropping a couple of singles and an EP for Rick Rubin's American Records. His crazy nasal rhyme style coupled with comical lyrics and playful beats created an upbeat, off-kilter sound that was all his own. In addition to his unusual written works, Milk has also been known to come up with some wildly funky freestyles in which his lyrics purposefully never rhyme. He has been on the DL for a few years, but he continues to produce for other artists and his influence can be heard in a wide variety of new school emcees.
