Melveen Leed has been a major Hawaii singer for almost four decades. Her first albums were oriented more to folk and pop, but her blending of Hawaiian and Country on brought her to Grand Ole Opry. Presently, her focus often is mainly Hawaiian, both as a solo artist and a leader who easily collaborates with other top musicians. Her web site states that the types of music she performs include "Hawaiian, international, Country, Jazz, Oldies, Spiritual, Holidays, & Rock n' Roll."
2005: Winner of a Nā Hōkū Hanohano Lifetime Achievement Award under the auspices of the Hawaiʻi Academy of Recording Arts.
