Toronto, Canadian Alternative rock band MELODIAC (formerly, In Airplane Mode) formed in 2016, when bassist of 80’s group Frost in June, Steve Lundy (vocals/bass/guitars) and guitarist Andy Stokes (vocals/guitars) joined with longtime friend Ange Civiero (producer/keyboards/vocals) and Lou Berdusco (drums 2016-2019). Melodiac were later to be joined by Steve Meldrum (guitars) and Ryan Henry (drums). The band began recording and writing new material and developing their sound in their private studio, the RubberRoom. They played local private venues and in 2017, performed in Epic Entertainment’s record breaking Guinness Book World Record for the longest continuous concert by multiple artists which stands at 437 hrs, 54 mins, 40 secs. In 2019, the band released a single “So Connected” and posted a Lyric video “Thoughts”. In 2019, Lou Berdusco resigned from the band due to a health issue and was replaced by Ryan Henry. In 2021, the band released various singles leading up to their debut album release.
December 13, 2021, after numerous delayed launches due to Covid and other factors, MELODIAC emerged with a 10 song album entitled “ONE” - the culmination of four years of exploring, writing and experimentation.
Of “ONE”, Nickey Alexiou writes:
“ Eclectic and Experimental ;
unashamedly and eponymously
melodic. ONE is an album with widely
and wildly relatable lyrics that weave
comedy, romance, pathos, and intellect
into a nuanced sequence of tracks reminiscent of decades of alternative rock bands.”
August 18, 2023 single "8Seconds" is released, from their forthcoming second album.
