About this artist

MAKALI whose real name is Magezi Christopher was born on 10th April 1993 in Uganda and was later raised in Kenya and Tanzania which led him to be vastly knowing the Kiswahili language. But he later returned back to Uganda after the loss of his mother where he finished his high school and settled completely.

His musical journey began when he was 10 years old and was singing for the choir at church and later joined the mass choir in his early years in high school with also other entertainment school activities like acting and dancing but then he developed the skill of rap music later in his 3rd year in high school where he learnt to write rhymes that he learnt from reading poetry in the school library. Later on in his senior year in high school, he participated in Sprite and Coca-Cola school talent competition, together with his friends and crew formerly known as “No Fear Inc.” which was originally made up of Meracko, Delta and himself including other members like ritzy D, Yuppie, Dominic, Bazooka and Izorous who later recorded songs such as “never settle” produced by Nasty of culture records, “love journey”, “I swear” collaborated by Shasta produced by Geo Steady from Jah Live and “Tonight” collaborated by Soldier M produced by Allanor from Buswale and hence became famous at school which helped him develop more as an artiste through facing the school crowds on the stage. coolsox

After school, in his vacation, he joined a studio called Buswale located in Kireka and met producer Allanor and Robie who mentored him through branding and finding him a suitable genre for his style of music only to come up with his 1st afro hip-hop style of music and therefore Allanor produced his 1st demo track “Dance a little” which is where he discovered his genre and direction in music later on doing local shows and after proceeding to Swangz Avenue where they developed the track by Producer Vince Musisi, then later on went on to work with Aethan and Samurai on his 2nd single called “In the air” which is soon hitting air waves and the media very soon with a video on the way.
