Lily Rose

Singer and songwriter Lily Rose is a genre-bending country performer known for her earnest, deeply emotive sound that straddles contemporary country, pop, and groove-oriented R&B. She burst onto the scene in 2020 when her single “Villain” went viral on social media, paving the way for her 2021 EP Stronger Than I Am.
A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Rose grew up playing sports and listening to a mix of pop, rap, and country. Her father worked in broadcasting which also helped to peak her interest in music. At age eight, she attended a Bruce Springsteen concert, which she often cites as a seminal moment in inspiring her to play music. Other early influences included Keith Urban, Taylor Swift, and Katy Perry. Rose eventually taught herself to play guitar and drums, and began writing her own songs. After high school, she moved to Athens where she studied finance at the University of North Georgia. All the while, she continued to perform, releasing several independently-produced EP’s. Following her graduation, she relocated to Nashville where being an openly gay singer with a vibrantly cross-pollinated country style meant she stood out, even as she struggled to find her place in the industry. In 2020, she posted the song “Villain” online. The track went viral and helped Rose land a deal with Big Loud/Republic Records. They re-released “Villain,” which hit number six on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart and reached 36 on the Hot Country Songs chart.
