Lil Rod

About this artist

Since 2013, Lil Rod has been in the studio 12 to 16 hours a day. Which makes sense considering that he’s in there as an artist, multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter. When a rare day off presented itself, Rod intentionally set out not to chill and spend a day in appreciation of the many blessings and recent successes in his life. “I had just pulled together a march for Chicago artists, with the support of not only the music and Gospel community, but also community activists including Father Michael Pfleger,” he recalls. “I pulled it in two days". Lil Rod’s 1st solo single as a rapper, “Win,” a celebration not only of life’s successes, but also the power to manifest wins, to live life with gusto, “like I don’t know how to lose,” as Rod raps on the song.

Rod has worked on projects by Jack Harlow, Musiq Soulchild and Mary Mary. To date, he has also gone one to add the title of songwriter and has worked with the likes of C Brown, MJB, Stevie Wonder, David Sabastian and more. Rod began developing new talent and launching his own production company. He began building a team and scouting talent... only to have his own manager pull the rug out from under him. Within months of losing his first artist, Rod wasn’t worried. Instead he saw the upheaval in his life as a set up for an amazing come up. Despite always being behind the scenes, Rod has always been a performer. "It's time to invest in myself".
