Full real name of the orchestra in English: Symphony Orchestra of the Leningrad State Philharmonic.
Leningrad (St. Petersburg) philharmonic orchestra was founded in 1882. It is the oldest and best known symphonic orchestra from Saint-Petersburg.
Not to be confused with Leningrad Academic Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra and other Leningrad / St. Petersburg orchestras.
Since 1993, the orchestra has been called = Заслуженный коллектив России Академический симфонический оркестр Санкт-Петербургской филармонии (abbreviated — ЗКР АСО)
