As the mainstream Hip-Hop continues to change today, L. Dot continues to remain true to the culture. After several notable media appearances, stage performances and a catalog of releases, he remains humble, true to his background and his perspective on life – a genuine smile that will light up a room. “Taking Hip-Hop back to the elements of what it was…” – L. Dot. Raised by his mother in Southeast D.C(District of Columbia), for as long as he can remember, music has been an integral part of L. Dot’s life. Developing his writing skills on a lyrical format at age 8 and by age 15 he was performing at local rap battles and freestyling, known in his younger days as Young Phenom. During his time in the military, serving at Fort Hood, he met a group called Full Deck Records, which provided him with inspiration into music - finding the time to practice his freestyle and writing skills. While also in the military, L. Dot encountered a tumultuous time he had to contend with a divorce, near death situations, probation time, and the death of his second daughter. At the brink of collapse, he was persuaded and encouraged by his friends and family to find solace in music. He successfully embraced music and is now on his way to becoming a set icon. During his rise of becoming a hip-hop icon, the stage name “L. Dot” emerged. His music eventually caught the attention of local radio stations K254 and UITA by the end of the year. Making several appearances on numerous outlets such as B106 in Killeen, 953JAMZ in Houston, The Courtney Hall Show in Waco, 93.9 KISS FM and WINDC Radio in Washington, DC area, Area 51 Radio in Arizona, Power Hour with Mr. Music on iHeartRadio, and many others. Performing at various club venues, community events and opening for notable artist such as Paul Wall, Cassidy, Lil Flip, Kirko Bangz and Baby Bash, created a buzz for himself. He continued to make a name for himself releasing several projects and selling them independently. His recent single release 'Talking To My Daughter’ was featured on The New MVMT Live with DJ Drewski in Orange, New Jersey, B103 FM in Killeen, Texas, along with 90.3FM in Minneapolis, MN, while continuing to receive significant attention nationwide. Following his fourth solo album “Back To Black”, He's continuing to add performance dates to his calendar, do live interviews, have press conferences and radio spins played on mainstream networks. L. Dot is also known for being innovated when it comes to laying down a track in the studio. When performing, L. Dot barely breaks a sweat, naturally keeping the audience engaged and entertained.
