Swedish musician, composer, arranger, pianist and educator, born 25 February 1951 in Örebro. He grew up in Örebro but now lives in Ljungskile. The drummer Paul Svanberg is his son.

After studying at the Gothenburg Academy of Music and over thirty-five years as a freelance musician, Lars Jansson is established and regarded as a composer, arranger, pianist and educator. Lars Jansson has collaborated with several prominent musicians, for example Jan Garbarek, Arild Andersen, Radka Toneff, Steve Swallow, Lew Sollof, Bob Berg, Rune Gustafsson, Ulf Wakenius, Georg Riedel, Rigmor Gustafsson, Göran Fristorp.

Lars Jansson became Denmark's first jazz professor in Aarhus in 1998. In the same year, Lars Jansson was nominated for the Danish Danish Jazzpar prize. He received the Danish Grammy for the album Hope 2001. Lars Jansson Trio is one of the most famous jazz groups in Scandinavia and Japan and has toured over large parts of the world.
