About this artist
Latvian chamber ensemble founded in 1996 by Gidon Kremer. With an average age of 27, the musicians of Kremerata Baltica may give the impression of being a youth orchestra, when in fact they are a young professional orchestra. While half of the members of the orchestra are already working musicians, the other half are currently completing their studies. They have world premiered new works by a variety of primarily Eastern European composers, Kremerata Baltica was awarded a Grammy Award in 2002 in the category Classical Music: Best Small Ensemble.
