Atlanta rapper Kollision made a quick rise through the Quality Control ranks in the late 2010s with verses that balanced nimble, street-centric rhymes with moments of deep introspection. Quickly after breakthrough single “Space Cadet” became a regional hit, he issued Better Than Yesterday and Not For Nothing in 2018. Growing up, Kollision was an athlete who favored boxing (which is where he got the inspiration for his stage name). With support from Quality Control (Migos, Lil Yachty), he featured on the label’s 2017 compilation Control the Streets, Vol. 1. “Space Cadet” was a local favorite and he quickly issued his full-length debut, Better Than Yesterday, in early 2018. The effort included the single “No Point” featuring Sonyae Elise and labelmate Lil Baby. At the end of the year, he issued his second album, Not For Nothing. ~ Neil Z. Yeung
