About this artist

Born Jaquan Treeal Timmons, 27, and raised in Montgomery, Alabama, Just Quan! is no stranger when it comes being musically talented. "My grandmother is a keyboardist as well a gospel artist. I also have uncles who are DJs/ producers and Jazz Musicians as well." Coming from that music bloodline, Just Quan! started writing by the age of 5 years old while spending time with his grandparents during the summer.

'' I believe I started writing around the age of 5-you know? My grandad saw me writing, saw the profanity I was using and beat me pretty good." Just Quan! doesn't present with the same quote unquote typical background of a black male and his reasoning behind wanting to do music. "I knew, I think when I was going into my teens that I was going to impact a large amount of people someday. Whether it was playing football, because at the time I was really, really good, or doing music. I've always been that type of person who decides to take the road less traveled, or the less beaten path.''

Some of Quan's influences from music are a mix between legends alive and non-living, and current icons out now. Rakim, Nas, Wu-Tang Clan, Scarface, Tupac, Jeezy, T.I., Lil' Wayne and so forth. " People used to tell me back then up until now that I have an Eastcoast flow with a southern bounce and I kindly thank them for the acknowledgement.'' Right now on datpiff.com and soundcloud.com, Just Quan! released his very first project labeled ''Flatline'' mixed by Alabama DJ legend Michael London and Hosted by Tomeka Williams who's alias is HotGirl Maximum. ''I received a lot of feedback from the project, some good, some bad, but either way I still walked away with the confidence to continue making more music and now people are anticipating any project that I do.''
