Johnny Orlando is a Canadian pop singer and social media star who first gained attention posting songs online in the early 2010s. In 2019, he released his debut major-label EP, Teenage Fever, earning a Juno nod in the process. Orlando returned in 2020 with the hit “Everybody Wants You” from his next EP, It's Never Really Over. 2022 saw the release of his first long-player, All the Things That Could Go Wrong.
Born John Vincent Orlando in Ontario in 2003, he began singing at a young age and by his tweens was posting cover videos online. He also posted original songs like “Summertime” and “Never Give Up,” and in 2015 issued the independent EP VXIIXI. Buoyed by his growing number of subscribers, he eventually caught the attention of Universal Music Canada, which signed him to a recording contract. In 2019, he released a second EP, Teenage Fever, which included the tracks “Last Summer” and “Sleep.” Also that year, he earned a Juno Award nomination for Breakthrough Artist of the Year.
Orlando headed into the next decade on a high note, scoring another major streaming hit with 2020′s “Everybody Wants You,” which appeared on his third EP, It's Never Really Over, later that year. The 2021 DVBBS collaboration “I Don’t” also put up big numbers ahead of his next solo single, “Daydream.” Orlando kicked off 2022 with a string of singles, including “Blur” and “Leave a Light On,” both of which appeared on his debut full-length effort, All the Things That Could Go Wrong, later that year. ~ Matt Collar
