About this artist

Joey Wilbur is a 17 year old singer/songwriter from the Chicago suburbs. His music career began at the age of 10 when he received a guitar as a gift for his 10th birthday. He soon realized he loved music and especially loved performing for a crowd. He began writing his own original music and enjoys putting his emotions or the emotions of others into a song.

early on he was influenced by ed sheeran.  you will still find him covering some of ed's songs and performing with a loop pedal at his local events.  more recently, he enjoys discovering new and up and coming artists.  some current favorites are jeremy zucker, Lauv, clinton kane, phoebe bridgers, and adam melchor.  you can check out his spotify playlist to hear some of the artists he's currently listening to.

Highlights from this young artists career have been performing to a crowd of over 20,000 people at the half-time show of a Chicago Bulls game, being a finalist for two consecutive years in the Suburban Chicago's Got Talent competition at the historic ArcadA Theater, playing at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, Tn and a performing as a finalist in the bitter jester music competition.

Joey has released three singles, "Seize the Day", "2,000 Miles", and "All for you", which were all recorded in Los angeles at sancola sound.  dan konopka (drummer from the grammy award winning band "Ok go") was the session drummer and helped produce, mix and master the released singles.
