About this artist

What do you do if you just spit fire on one of the biggest independent rap songs of the decade, performed to packed crowds on back-to-back tours, and your team won the Super Bowl? If you’re Joey Cool, you reflect, live in the moment, and show your gratitude.
That’s exactly what he does on his sixth full-length album, the aptly titled Enjoy The View [Strange Music]. Make no mistake though, the Kansas City phenomenon doesn’t rest on his laurels. Instead, he goes even harder with a dynamic, diverse, and definitive opus. “We get so caught up in this whole music thing, and it’s hard to see where you’re actually at,” he notes. “For me, Enjoy The View literally means stepping back, chilling, having a good time, and enjoying the view. Three years removed from the Pandemic, we’re getting back to it for real. We’re touring. We’re making music. We’re not taking it for granted. I’m reminding myself
I’ve come a long way, and I’m going to stop and smell the roses.”
With impenetrable flows, hypnotic hooks, and debonair flair, Joey persists an outlier through and through. From the jump, he has mined influences as diverse as R&B, big band, rock ‘n’ roll, alternative, and rap. “I’ve got a Frank Sinatra tattoo on my arm, and I’m from the Midwest,” he grins. “I’m a little different.”
Thus far, he has ignited a string of fan favorite projects. Hailed as “a hidden gem,” HipHopDX rated his 2018 self-titled solo debut “4.0-out-of-5.0.” Following Coolie High [2020] and I tried to be normal once [2021], he reached another stratosphere on The Chairman of the Board [2022]. Hip Hop Golden Age applauded it as “some of his most confident writing and performances to date.” In between, he shined on Tech N9ne’s “Face Off” alongside King Iso and the legendary Dwayne Johnson. The song has amassed hundreds of millions of streams, 14.6 billion TikTok views, and received plugs from Variety, USA Today, People, HYPEBEAST, and many more.
