Swedish cellist and cello professor, born on May 28, 1983 in Oscar, Stockholm, Uppland.

Koranyi began studying cello in 1999, first at 's chamber music education at Edsberg Manor (In Sw. 'Edsbergs slott'), for , later, for , at the in Manchester, United Kingdom, and, for , at in Germany.

He was awarded 'Prix d'honneur' and the Ferminich Prize ('prix Ferminich') in 2006 at the in Switzerland. Awarded the second grand prize at 'Le concours de violoncelle Rostropovitch' (Cello Competition ) in Paris in 2009 and the special prize for best interpretation of 's concert No 1 by the Foundation.

He has won, among others, the Swedish Prizes: Young Musicians in 2002, the Ljunggrenska competition in Gothenburg in 2004 and the Soloist Prize in 2006. In 2017, he also received Sixten Gemzéu's major music scholarship.

Orchestral highlights, so far, have included performances with , , , , , , , , , , , , , , and .

Since in May in 2022, he is employed as professor at the instittute for classical music at .

His parents are the Swedish violinist Marie Alemo and Gabor Koranyi, Swedish eye surgeon of Hungarian descent.
